Arthur-Pjanic: Barcelona and Juventus finalise deal at last

The deal was closed in the early hours of Saturday morning

The deal which will see Barcelona's Arthur Melo move to Juventus and Miralem Pjanic in the other direction is now complete. Everything was finalised through the night on Friday, with the players' contracts also sorted. The only thing remaining issue was minor details for Juve and Arthur to iron out, but after several days, that was closed in the early hours of Saturday.

Arthur, therefore, will be a Juventus player and Barça will sign Pjanic for around 10 million euros less. Pjanic reached an agreement with the Catalan club in May. It's taken the Brazilian slightly longer but he's there now.

The operation is financially favourable for Barça. The final agreement will see Arthur join Juve for around 70 million, while Barça will sign Pjanic for 60 million. Both clubs will compute enormous benefits on the deal -- Barça almost 60 million -- due to the high value of the sales. In the end, the full-back De Sciglio will not be involved in the deal. Barça preferred the cash.

In addition, the Bosnian, who in Italy was on around seven million euros net per season, has dropped his pay to move to Camp Nou -- and rejected better offers from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain to ensure the move to Barcelona. He wants to win the Champions League with the Blaugrana and did all he could to sign.

Arthur, meanwhile, will triple his salary by moving to Turin and, in sporting terms, has assurances that he will have a bigger role to play than he has done at Barça so far.
