Arthur Melo received the unanimous seal of approval from the whole of 'Barcelonismo' on Wednesday night. The Brazilian, whose style fits perfectly with what Ernesto Valverde desires from his team, announced his arrival on the biggest stage. The coach needed more muscle in the midfield area after a poor run of results and Arthur stepped up. It wasn't easy against a tough opponent and in a competition many view as the biggest in football. Arthur's idol was Iniesta but you can see aspects of his game which are similar to those from the man who now plays for Al Sadd. He not only won the praise and respect from the fans and coaches but also his teammates. All of them congratulated the Brazilian on his performance because he didn't complain or kick up a fuss, but listened and learned to the needs of the team.

Arthur earned his place in Gremio's first team in April 2017, was named MVP in the Libertadores final and in Brazil they expect him to be a starter for the national team. Everything suggests that he'll continue along that same path with Barcelona.
