The Turkish international hasn't played a single minute of football since January and his contract expires tomorrow

Tuesday will officially bring an end to Arda Turan's five years at FC Barcelona. It was an experience that both sides will want to immediately forget as the former Atletico Madrid talisman never looked like fitting in at the Camp Nou. The headlines Turan has generated during his time at the club have been largely due to his off the field antics. The Turkish international leaves through the back door after being a major disappointment.

He was unable to appear for the first six months of his deal due to Barça's transfer fan and then the club desperately tried to find a solution to move Turan on. Ernesto Valverde couldn't find a place for him in his starting XI and in January 2018 he joined Istanbul Basaksehir on a two and a half year loan deal. Turan ended that move ahead of time and returned to Barça in January. Although he forfeited any right to play or be paid by Barça due to the way he cancelled his deal with the Turkish team.

ISSUES

Arda Turan has constantly been involved in problems and most of those came during his stint in Turkey.

He seemingly didn't care that he was hit with a 16-match ban for pushing a linesman. He got into trouble with authorities too and was involved in a fight with a popular Turkish singer, Berkay Sahin, breaking the man's nose. He then took a gun to the hospital and accidentally fired a shot. He was handed a suspended sentence of two years and eight months due to the incident.
