Ansu may get a golden chance at Mestalla
The Spanish forward is coming back to his best level and may get a start on Saturday night
The visit to Mestalla could be a big opportunity for Ansu Fati. Although we are waiting for Xavi Hernandez to confirm his plans, it could well be Ansu’s 75th appearance for Barcelona - and just his fourth start of the current season.
The match against Valencia arrives just as Ansu is ready to step up. Fit again, it’s an excellent chance for him to demonstrate his personality at a tough place to go like Mestalla.
Xavi is being very patient with the Barcelona forward, conscious that the team needs him but not wanting to force him in too quickly. Ansu has started to show his quality and Mestalla could be a turning point for him.
About to turn 20, the Spanish striker has been with the first team for four seasons, playing 74 games to date with 22 goals. He’s also given nine assists in his 3,082 minutes.
Ansu made is debut on August 25, 2019, at 16 years and 298 days old. Only injuries have held him back since.
He’s scored 18 goals in 52 league games, plus three n the C Champions League. He nets a goal every 119 minutes, in the league, while in Europe it’s one every 191.
Ansu has not scored in the Copa del Rey, where he’s had 295 minutes across four games. And in the Spanish Super Cup he scored once in the 56 minutes he’s played, across two matches.
