The coach will not have Ousmane Dembele available for the game on Sunday

A new absence for Xavi Hernandez ahead of the clash with Real Mallorca is not good news.

Ousmane Dembele did not train with his team-mates on Saturday. He has tonsillitis and will not be avaialbe for the clash with Javier Aguirre’s team. He joins Nico, Sergi Roberto, Dest, Umtiti and Pedri out injured, while Mingueza and Braithwaite have Covid-19.

Gerard Pique is a doubt too. He did recovery work while his team-mats trained. Pique has had some adductor problems, training when he can and playing when he can, over the past few weeks. He’s not ruled out but he’s not 100 per cent.

Ansu Fati will likely be back in the squad after getting injured at San Games in January. He may appear from the bench.

The team started training by congratulating Marc-Andre ter Stegen for his birthday, and Ronald Araujo for his contract renewal.
