Andres Iniesta can leave Barcelona for free

Iniesta renueva de por vida en el Barça / | ATLAS

The player just has to tell the club what he wants to do

Andres Iniesta opened the debate over his future after Barcelona beat Chelsea. The player let slip that he has to decide by the end of April whether he will stay or go. He can leave in the summer to China for free. Departing for nothing is part of his lifetime deal with Barcelona that he signed last year, as long as he gives the club enough notice.

Right now, Iniesta has not decided anything. Barcelona created a contract for him that would make him comfortable. The club are grateful to him for his service over the last 12 years and he has always been faithful to them despite other offers. This is similar to Dani Alves, who was also allowed to leave for nothing

Iniesta is weighing up the pros and cons of the decision. He has something on the table from Tianjin Quanjian in the Chinese Super League. His people have held various meetings on the issue and after Easter there will be a meeting which could be definitive. Iniesta's doubt is that he still feels a very important player at Barcelona. He is an undisputed starter.

Tianjin want Iniesta after the World Cup, but there is another possibility. Maybe Iniesta will decide to stay until January, playing for Spain at the World Cup and helping Barca at the start of the season - until Arthur is ready to come in.
