The young midfielder is in line to make the squad for Thursday's Copa clash

Ronald Koeman called up Barça B midfielder Alex Collado to train with the first team ahead of Thursday's Copa del Rey tie away at Cornella.

The academy graduate could be one of the players who features in the cup this week as Koeman makes changes to the side that lost to Athletic Club in the Spanish Supercopa final on Sunday.

Collado was one of five B team players to be summoned on Wednesday, although the other four have been regulars with the first team in recent weeks: Ilaix Moriba, Konrad de la Fuente, Iñaki Peña and Oscar Mingueza.

Collado has already featured for the first team under Ernesto Valverde but could get his first minutes under Koeman this week.

One player who's a major doubt to face Cornella is Sergino Dest. The United States right-back missed the win over Real Sociedad last Wednesday and only lasted 45 minutes against Athletic at the weekend. He trained alone on Wednesday.

Lionel Messi, meanwhile, trained as normal with his teammates despite having to play 120 minutes on Sunday having only just returned from an injury.

However, Messi is unable to play against Cornella as he is suspended due to the red card he received in the final minute of the loss to Athletic.
