Koeman would prefer to use footballers with more experience in the positions those two play in

Koeman has a plan with very clear ideas. You can like him or not but it's clear that he will make the decisions on which players he wants to keep and who should find a new team this year. After telling Riqui Puig he won't be needed that message apparently extends to a couple of other youngsters. According to 'Esport3', Koeman believes Carles Aleña and Pedri should also leave in order to find regular playing time.

The Dutch coach doesn't feel either player are ready to play week in, week out for the senior side. This is why he wants both to find another team to play for in order to gain that experience at a higher level. He's aware of the talent both players possess and they could have a role to play later on in the season but, for now, he doesn't think they are ready.

Barça are expecting to have a busy end to the transfer window and this could see Pedri and Aleña leave on loan deals before the 5th October. The club needs to finalise some sales before they can make any further additions to the squad. As things stand, both would like to stay and fight for their spot but that could change over the next few days.
