Alemany: There will be more zero cost transfers
The director is going to find more bargains on the market
Barça's football director, Mateu Alemany, said that the arrival of footballers at zero cost will be one of the bases of the Blaugrana’s transfer policy, at least in the next few windows. This formula has already been important this summer with the arrivals of Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessié, Héctor Bellerín and Marcos Alonso, four players who have improved the squad depth.
FC Barcelona has made an economic effort by activating the sale of assets to form a competitive squad and in the coming years it will have to adjust to lower the locker room wage bill without losing competitiveness. This will force the sports management to make sage signings and one of the most productive formulas is to be very attentive to the market opportunities that arise.
This was highlighted by Mateu Alemany, who thanked the footballers who have arrived this summer for free for their willingness to sign for Barça: "They have rejected important offers to come to Barça and we value that."
The Blaugrana’s football director pointed out that they will not be the last to arrive under this formula: "More and more we have to focus on the market of free players. This year we have done it with Kessie, Christensen, Marcos Alonso and Bellerín, and there are many more to come."
