The midfielder's now former club paid for an advertisement inside today's edition of the newspaper where they wish him the best on his new adventure
Ajax have once again shown what a special club they are and how much they appreciate their youngsters maintaining the values taught to them before moving onto greener pastures.
The Dutch giants have taken out a paid advertisement in today's edition of SPORT where they wish Frenkie de Jong the best of luck at FC Barcelona.
At the top of the advert, it says: "Barça, enjoy the future like we do." Referring to the young midfielder as the future of the sport.
Underneath that there's a short message in Catalan too. "Molta sort, Frenkie ('Best of luck, Frenkie')".
It's another clear message of the close relationship the two clubs have. Both are heavily influenced by Johan Cruyff and Ajax hope de Jong continues to develop and improve at Barça.
