Aguero's future could be at Barcelona if Laporta's elected president

Aguero's future could be at Barcelona if Laporta's elected president

The Man City striker is out of contract in June and available on a free

Joan Laporta is starting to make strategic moves in the case he's chosen as Barcelona president on Sunday. He's not naming names in public but rumours are starting to emerge.

One of his biggest tasks is to guarantee that Lionel Messi stays at the club and he has a name in mind to help convince the Argentine to stay. According to the Daily Mail, Laporta's team are weighing up the signing of Sergio Aguero this summer.

Aguero is out of contract with Manchester City at the end of the season and would be able to come for free, although his salary wouldn't be cheap.

At 32, he's struggled with injuries this season and has said he won't decide his future until the end of the season, but his friendship with Messi is well known and Laporta considers him a key agent.

City boss Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, doesn't want to lose one of the Premier League's greatest ever goal scorers, but the decision is in Aguero's hands.
