The striker was speaking after signing a two year contract with the Catalan club

New Barcelona signing Sergio Aguero says playing with Lionel Messi for Barcelona will be a dream come true: "We hope to play together, of course.

"It's a pleasure to play with him. If he stays here, which I think he will, we will give our best for the club to achieve big things. For me, Barcelona, also because he's here, is the best club in the world."

The Argentina striker, who could not win the Champions League in his final game with Manchester City, assured his relationship with Messi is special.

"We've been together with the national team," he added. "I speak with Leo every day and to train together every day, because it's not so often with Argentina, will be really great."

The former Atletico Madrid striker, 32, has signed a two-year contract with Barça with a €100 million release clause. It's his third European club after leaving Independiente aged 18.

Messi relationship key

Aguero has joined Barça with the intention of playing with Messi, as he does for Argentina. The duo have played 77 games together for the Albiceleste. Aguero's scored nine goals from Messi passes and Messi eight from the former City man's assists.

Both were part of the U20 World Cup win in 2005 and the Olympic Games gold medal success in 2008. Now, their challenge, if Messi continues, is to make Barça Europe's best again.
