The Italian side are one of many chasing the French centre-back

Barcelona have decided that Jean Clair Todibo can leave the club in January. The French defender has not earned a regular place in the side and the club want to make money on someone who has a good reputation around Europe. The latest to show an interest in him is AC Milan.

On Friday, Barça sporting director Eric Abidal and his No.2 Ramon Planes were in Milan. As well as meeting with Inter, they also met with their city rivals Milan. Among the Milan delegation was their sporting director, the legendary Paolo Maldini.

Milan are looking to make moves in January to make up for a disappointing campaign so far. Abidal and Planes made it clear that any deal for Todibo would have to be a transfer with a buyback option. Maldini is not against that and could return with an offer.

BAYER LEVERKUSEN

Despite Milan's interest, Bayer Leverkusen remain the favourites to sign Todibo. The German side have held several meetings with Barcelona regarding a deal worth around 10 million euros. However, they don't want to include a buyback claise.

That could be a deal-breaker for Barça, who feel Todibo's value could still shoot up. As well as Milan and Leverkusen, Watford have also made contact. However, the English side only wanted a loan.

Todibo's rarely played since joining Barcelona in January. The Blaugrana fought off competition from Juventus to sign the France youth international.

ARAUJO

ARAUJOBarça will not turn to the market if Todibo leaves. The club believe Ronald Araujo, currently in the B team, is the perfect replacement. The Uruguayan has impressed the coaches and his involvement with the first team continues to increase. He could even be involved against Inter this week.
