AC Milan interested in a player swap for Junior Firpo

The Italian side want the Barca defender but don't want to pay for him

AC Milan are still working on signing Junior Firpo at the best price possible. The Italian side know the player wants to come, with the defender turning down other proposals which are even more interesting economically to Barcelona, and are trying to get him on loan with an option to buy.

Barcelona don’t want that and the Italians are now trying to negotiate with potential players to exchange. Barcelona will look at which players they might like. Centre-back Romagnoli is one name suggested but Barca would be more interested in Kessie and Tonali.

Milan want him on loan so they can try him for a year and see next June if he is worth keeping. Barcelona have offers from Southampton and West Ham. They want to sell him for 16 million and the English sides would pay that. But the problem is Junior does not want to go to the Premier League. He would rather stay in Spanish football and if not, then go to Italy. Milan, Inter and Napoli are interested but Milan is his choice.

Ronald Koeman would prefer Junior Firpo to be gone by the time pre-season starts.
