The sporting director will now discuss Arthur's immediate future with coach Setien

Barcelona sporting director Eric Garcia met with Arthur Melo on Monday after the Brazilian midfielder finally returned to the Catalan city after failing to show for training in July.

Arthur's intention is to re-join training with his teammates to be able to exit an early exit from his contract in more friendly circumstances,

Abidal plans to meet with Barça coach Quique Setien later on Monday to make a final decision on Arthur's future.

Everything suggests he will not return to training and will not be part of the team that travels to Lisbon for the Champions League this week.

At the same time, the club are moving on with disciplinary action against the player for breach of contract.

Arthur, 23, refused to return to training after a short break in July because he feels "mistreated" by the club.

Barça close a deal for Arthur to move to Juventus for an initial €70 million in June and he hasn't played a minute of football for the club since.
