A Barca that know what they want but not how to get it
They have had 56 shots in four league games but only managed to score three
Something curious has happened to Barcelona. Many thought they would have a tough start to the season, with Leo Messi wanting to leave and new coach Ronald Koeman coming in, amid institutional chaos. And yet they started well, with the win in Turin to boot.
However in La Liga they now have two points from the last 12. And there is a clear explanation. A lack of goals. They have scored just three in those four games, a terrible run for a side that wants to be champions.
It was all fine until Sevilla came to Camp Nou. Barca had beaten Villarreal 4-0 and Celta Vigo 3-0. Not bad. However with 12 shots and 5 on target against Sevilla, only Coutinho’s effort went in, in a 1-1 draw.
Against Getafe they had nine shots and four on target, no goals in a 1-0 defeat, the only game they have not scored in.

A desperate Barcelona, but one which is very much alive
They thrashed Ferencvaros in the Champions League and then Ansu Fati scored in the Clasico, but they lost 3-1. 10 shots, four on target.
Mendizorroza was a different story, even though it ended in a 1-1 draw. 25 shots, nine on target, but Pacheco made many special saves. Griezmann got the only goal with a dink.
The team have managed three goals from 56 shots, 22 on target. Chance creation is not the problem, finishing is. That must improve or La Liga will be over too soon.
