Sergio Akieme will be the first player, but not the last, to leave Barça B this summer. The left-back will join Almeria on loan. They will have the option to make the deal permanent if they are promoted to LaLiga.
Akieme is one of the players Barça B needed to find a new home for this month. After failing to gain promotion to LaLiga Smartbank, many of the more experienced members of the team are ready to take the step up. Akieme was one of Barça B's best players last season.
After starting preseason working under Ronald Koeman, Akieme soon realised his future would lie elsewhere. He's said goodbye to his teammates ahead of finalising his move to Almeria.
