Ballon d'Or breakdown: How many points each of the top 30 received
Leo Messi got 686 points, just seven more than second place Virgil Van Dijk
The voting breakdown for the Ballon d'Or has been revealed, which was won by Barcelona's Lionel Messi ahead of Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk on Monday.
Messi claimed the prize for a record-breaking sixth time but he won it by just seven points from Van Dijk, with Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo finishing third.
The journalists that voted on the prize awarded Messi 686 points, with Van Dijk getting 679. Ronaldo was a long way back on 476 points.
Barça midfielder Frenkie de Jong also featured, just missing out on a top 10 finish by coming 11th, while Antoine Griezmann finished 18th and Marc-Andre ter Stegen 24th.
