Atletico Madrid sign Mario Hermoso from Espanyol
The player will join Diego Simeone's side after the deal was made official on Thursday
Mario Hermoso joins Atletico Madrid from Espanyol. The 24-year-old took his medical in the Spanish capital on Thursday.
The centre-back joins Kieran Trippier, from Tottenham, as a new Atletico signing, as they look to bolster a back-line shaken by the departures of Diego Godin and Lucas Hernandez.
Hermoso joins on a five-year contract for 25 million euros plus 4 million in variables.
“Hermoso arrives from Espanyol where he played 59 games in two seasons,” said Atletico in a statement. “In these two campaigns he scored four goals and was key for the Catalan team.”
