Atlético Madrid have entered the race to sign Bruno Fernandes
Simeone's side have offered Sporting Clube €50m plus another €10m in variables for the midfielder
Atletico Madrid are beginning work on yet another squad overhaul this summer. Diego Godin, Lucas Hernandez and Juanfran have all left the club whilst question marks hang over star men such as Antoine Griezmann, Rodri and Jan Oblak. One of the names on the list of potential incomings is Bruno Fernandes. Sporting Clube de Portugal's midfielder has impressed scouts from around Europe with his performances this season. Atletico are willing to part with up to €60m for Bruno according to 'A Bola'.
The 24-year-old midfield's industry and ability is what appeals most to Atletico. Simeone, too, has given the green light to invest in the Portuguese international. His numbers this season for Sporting have been incredible: 32 goals and 18 assists in 53 matches.
After reaching a positive conclusion over the 'Gelson Martins' saga the two clubs are on good terms. Despite there being a lot of competition for Fernandes it's rumoured that Simeone is the coach he'd prefer to work with. Now it remains to be seen whether Atletico can reach an agreement with his club.
