The Rojiblancos don't want to sell the defender despite need for cash

It's known that Manchester City have turned their attention to La Liga after their move for Napoli's Koulibaly to strengthen their defence went cold.

Pep Guardiola's side want a new centre-back and Atletico Madrid's Jose Maria Gimenez is a player they like, although the Spanish side are not ready to sell the Uruguayan.

According to The Sun, City's first offer went in at around 70 million euros but was quickly rebuffed by Atletico. Everyone knows Atletico need to sell but it seems they will resist the urge to cash in on Gimenez.

Kalinic is a player who is for sale. Besiktas want to sign the striker from the Rojiblancos and negotiations are thought to be ongoing.
