The former Barcelona striker spoke to SPORT about his former colleague

Former Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer, now at Borussia Dortmund, spoke to SPORT from Spain's training base in Las Rozas.

Would it be best for you if Messi doesn't play on Sept. 17 in the Champions League game in Dortmund?

It would be better for us, for Valencia in the next league game, for the opponent after us... It's obvious that Leo gives the team a plus that no other player does. I hope he waits a few more days before coming back... (laughs).

What can you tell me about Sancho? A lot of good things have been said about the Englishman…

He's a kid, 19 years old, with great quality. If he keeps his head, he will be a top player. There's uncertainty at that age, but as a player and a person in the dressing room, he's top. If he improves and picks up other qualities, he will be one of the best in the world.

Do they still speak about Dembele in Dortmund?

Yes, there are some comments. Always good! Speaking ill of people doesn't create a good atmosphere, you always have to speak positively, even if at moments things don't go well.

What have you made of the Neymar saga?

I can't get involved in that. We're players and we all, except some who have been lucky to be in a club for many years, have been transferred. There's always uncertainty. All I can say about Neymar is he's a great player. I spent one year with him. As a person, he behaved really well, I have a good relationship with him and I wish him the best.
