Borussia Dortmund forward Alcacer was pleased with his brace

Rodrigo Moreno and Paco Alcacer hit two goals each as Spain thrashed the Faroe Islands 4-0 in Euro 2020 qualifying.

Both forwards spoke after the game, which was the country’s sixth win from six in the group, leaving them seven points clear of second place Sweden, who drew 1-1 with Norway.

"They stayed really deep and we knew that it was going to be hard," said Rodrigo.

"We wanted to score in the first half and we played a complete game.

"The message from the coach is important because it gives us confidence. We play for our places in each game and that's important for everyone to be at their best."

Borussia Dortmund hitman Alcacer came off the bench to score two goals in the final five minutes.

"When I score it means that I’ve been able to help the team," said former Barcelona striker Alcacer.

"I always say the same. Strikers score thanks to the team-mates who give them the ball and they have tremendous quality. I always say the same thing, they pass and we score."
