Real Madrid have stepped up their interest in Fabian Ruiz, revealing their desire to sign the midfielder to Napoli, his agent has confirmed to Canal Sur Radio.
"Yes, it's true that Real has shown interest, we told Napoli about that," Alvaro Torres said. "It's obvious that there are many important clubs that have asked about him, he has spent three years at a high level."
"But right now, he must focus on his team. This summer, we will see. He is a midfielder who will mark an era."
Napoli will have to study Madrid's interest in the Spain international, who they signed from Real Betis for €30 million, before making a decision this summer.
President Aurelio De Laurentis is reluctant to sell the 24-year-old but his hand may be forced if big offers arrive and the player pushes for a return to Spain.
